Much to the excitement and joy of the children in attendance, Peppa Pig visited area preschools on March 30 to fulfill her promise to visit Welly Walk prize winners. Katonah Village Kids and Little Learners of Westchester held Welly Walk fundraising events, which earned them a chance to win a meet and greet with Peppa Pig. Due to the pandemic, the meet and greet for the 2020 winner had been postponed until this spring. Ericka Glick, director and owner of Katonah Village Kids, said “I remember hearing of Ty’s story when I was pregnant with my first child, and it touched my heart.” Ericka added, “All Ty wanted to do as a child was to jump in muddy puddles, unfortunately he was not well enough to do so. So, we jumped in all those puddles in honor of Ty.” During her visit, Peppa jumped with the children and gave out warm hugs and big high fives.

At Little Learners of Westchester, Peppa traveled from classroom to classroom and was greeted with smiles, giggles and laughter. The children were heard saying “Peppa is so soft!” They were telling Peppa about their own Peppa Pig toys and wished that she could stay and go to school with them. It was an amazing day to celebrate kids being kids in honor of those who can’t.
