On the evening of March 25, the Ty Louis Campbell (TLC) Foundation partnered with Andrew Sarubbi of McKinney & Doyle and Cynthia Kinahan of Pawling Bread Co. to present a virtual evening of flavorful wines, charcuterie, cheese and dried fruit. Andrew and Cynthia worked together to select the perfect pairings of wine and delicious foods for our enjoyment. All three bottles of wine were perfectly paired with dried mandarin oranges, black peppercorn salami (handmade in Vermont by Babette‘s Table), and Ossau Iraty cheese.
This event, which was generously sponsored by the Smith Family Fund, invited residents of Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess and Fairfield counties to purchase wine and cheese packages for $125. A portion of each purchase included a donation to TLC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding childhood cancer research to improve the overall outcome and quality of life for those children who are battling the deadliest cancers.
This wine tasting was hosted on Zoom, an online video conferencing platform that is very easy to access via phone, tablet or computer. The event proved to be a wonderful way to increase visibility for beloved local restaurants and encourage patronage while supporting a great cause.
For those who missed the event, a recording of the session is available for viewing. A copy of the tasting mat can be viewed here if you wish to review the outstanding wine and cheese that was featured during the live event.
