On the evening of September 17, the Ty Louis Campbell Foundation (TLC) partnered with local restaurants McKinney & Doyle and the Pawling Bread Company to host a virtual wine and cheese pairing in support of Childhood Cancer Awareness month this September.

Residents of Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess and Fairfield counties had the opportunity to purchase wine and cheese packages ranging from $125 – $250, which included a donation to TLC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding childhood cancer research to improve the overall outcome and quality of life for those children who are battling the deadliest cancers.

Andrew Sarubbi, the incredible sommelier from McKinney & Doyle, guided participants on a virtual tour through the vineyards on the mediterranean coast during harvest, discussing the grapes and tasting the wine. All three bottles of wine will be perfectly paired with authentic hard and soft cheeses carefully selected by co-host Cynthia Kinahan, owner of The Pawling Bread Company, to ensure a divine experience for all who joined. Andrew and Cynthia were a perfect pair, themselves, keeping the audience engaged and entertained throughout the hour-long session.

This wine tasting was hosted on Zoom, an online video conferencing platform that is very easy to access via phone, tablet or computer.  The event proved to be a wonderful way to increase visibility for local restaurants and encourage patronage while supporting a great cause.

For those who missed the event, a recording of the session is available for viewing, and a copy of the tasting mat can be viewed here if you wish to review the outstanding wine and cheese that was featured during the live event.
