Godfather Gala Draws 240 Supporters to Benefit the Ty Louis Campbell Foundation

On Saturday, March 7, the Ty Louis Campbell Foundation hosted its twelfth annual gala, welcoming 240 guests for an elegant evening inspired by The Godfather. The dinner party, casino night, and auction brought together a vibrant community of supporters from New York City and the surrounding counties of Nassau, Westchester, Fairfield, Dutchess, and Putnam, all united in support of funding pediatric cancer research.

The evening combined classic style with heartfelt purpose, beginning with Tommy Gallo, who opened the gala with a modern performance of “Speak Softly Love,” the Love Theme from The Godfather (1972) composed by Nino Rota. Guests were also treated to an amazing dinner-time performance by Sal “The Voice” Valentinetti, an Italian-American crooner known best for his flawless vocals, larger-than-life personality, and his heart of gold. Lively casino tables and a spirited auction rounded out the night, raising critical funds to advance innovative research for children with cancer.

During the program, the Foundation recognized two remarkable supporters. Joseph Parrello received the “Heart of Gold” Award for his exceptional philanthropy and steadfast commitment to advancing childhood cancer research, while Whitney Simmonds was honored for her years of dedication to the Foundation through the Rockin’ for a Reason student music fundraiser.

The Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to this year’s generous sponsors: MJD Trucking, CN Wood, Katonah Village Kids, Solving Kids’ Cancer, Orange County BMW, Morning Sun Supply, Enterprise Fleet Management, Smith Family Foundation, Nieco Container Corp, Ingersoll Automotive, Truvium Financial Group, Astroturf Corp, and Armoured One. Their support, along with the generosity of attendees and volunteers, made the evening a resounding success and continues to fuel the mission of bringing children with cancer closer to better treatments—and cures.
